dudley-headshotSergeant Major Michael R. Dudley retired from the United States Army in June, 2006, after 31 years of active duty service.   He served as soloist, Group Leader and Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge of the United States Army Chorale, the premiere mixed vocal ensemble of the United States Army Band (Pershing’s Own) in Washington, DC.  He also served as soloist, bass section member, producer, and announcer for the United States Army Chorus.  Sergeant Major Dudley was the principal announcer and master of ceremonies for the United States Army Concert Band, The Military District of Washington, and events of national and international significance as directed by the Department of Defense.  Mike is a native of the great state of Texas and holds the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.

Sergeant Major Dudley has performed professionally throughout the National Capital Region and across the nation as a vocal soloist and announcer.  Mike served as the official world-wide public address and television announcer for the 2001 and 2005 Presidential Inauguration Ceremonies.  He has appeared as soloist with the Boston Pops Orchestra, the 2000 National Governors’ Conference at Penn State University, and as a choral ensemble member with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC.  He has performed extensively with the United States Army Band and its elements at American Bandmasters Association National Conventions, American Choral Directors Association National Conventions, Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinics in Chicago, Texas Bandmasters Conventions, Texas Choral Directors Association Conventions, and the Texas Music Educators annual convention, as well as hundreds of public and private venues from coast to coast.

Sergeant Major Dudley’s military awards include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.  He was honored by Texas Congressman Solomon Ortiz in the April 26, 2006 Congressional Record and is a recipient of the 2006 “Change the World” award presented by Abilene Christian University.

Mike is also a freelance voiceover artist, providing professional voice talent for live events, commercials and video productions ranging from broadcast programming to highly technical training films.
