Since the summer of 2005, Patrick Vaughn has served the Fairfax Choral Society as the Director of Youth Choruses, overseeing all performing ensembles and over 200+ students. He also is the Conductor for the Master Singers, the advanced high school ensemble for the Youth Division. In addition, in May 2022, he was named the Conductor of the Symphonic Chorus, the FCS founding chorus, established in 1962. In May 2024, he was named the Artistic Director of FCS. Outside of FCS, he is the Director of Choirs at Annandale High School (2016), where he oversees a program of over 150 students and he also serves as Director of Worship at Annandale United Methodist Church (2004) in Annandale, Virginia, where he oversees musicians in eight vocal and instrumental ensembles.
Before moving to Northern Virginia in October 2004, he served as the Director of Music Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Dothan, Alabama, and as the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Music South Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his church positions, Mr. Vaughn taught choirs on the secondary level in Central Texas for nearly 10 years. His choirs have won awards domestically and internationally and have been held in the highest acclaim by the American Choral Directors Association, the Virginia Choral Directors Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, and the Texas Choral Directors Association.
Mr. Vaughn is also the co-founder and artistic director of Brethren, a men’s ensemble comprised of professional, military, and church musicians.
