Artistic Staff

Patrick “Pat” Vaughn is Artistic Director of the Fairfax Choral Society (FCS), where he also conducts the Symphonic Chorus. He joined FCS in 2005 as Director of the Youth Choruses, a program that now serves more than 125 singers across multiple ensembles. In 2026, Pat retired as conductor of the Master Singers, the organization’s advanced high school ensemble. He was appointed Conductor of the Symphonic Chorus in May 2022 and became Artistic Director in May 2024.

Known for programming both masterworks and contemporary choral literature, Pat is committed to creating meaningful musical experiences that inspire singers and audiences alike.

Beyond FCS, Pat has served as Director of Choirs at Annandale High School since 2016, where he oversees a thriving choral program. He has also served as Director of Worship at Annandale United Methodist Church since 2004, leading all aspects of the church’s music ministry.

Pat is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Brethren, a professional men’s a cappella ensemble founded in 2006 that performs throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan region.

With more than three decades of experience in music education, Pat has directed school and church music programs in Virginia, Alabama, and Texas. His choirs have received both domestic and international acclaim and have performed at state, national, and international venues.

Pat is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the Virginia Choral Directors Association (VCDA), the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), and the Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA).

Miranda Lansberry is the Director of Youth Programs, overseeing all youth performing ensembles. She has been on staff with Fairfax Choral Society since 2014. During this time, she has conducted Da Capo, Lyric, Treble, and Concert Choirs, as well as taught several levels of musicianship. Currently, she conducts the Concert Choir, the most advanced treble ensemble.

Outside of FCS, Mrs. Lansberry is the Director of Choruses at Justice High School in Falls Church, VA. Mrs. Lansberry has cultivated a thriving choral program, inspiring students to strive for excellence and fostering a strong sense of community. Under her guidance, the choir has achieved remarkable success, consistently earning Superior ratings at State Assessment and students regularly selected for prestigious regional, state, and national honor choirs.

Mrs. Lansberry holds certifications in the Kodály method, Conversational Solfege, and Somatic Voicework. She is deeply involved in the  community, having served as President of the Virginia Organization of Kodály Educators. She has presented at conferences and workshops on using Kodály in the Chorus Classroom. 

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Lansberry has resided in Virginia for almost 25 years. She is married with two grown children and two dogs. She also spends her time with music ministries at Annandale United Methodist Church.
