Audition Details
- All potential members audition in private with the Music Director.
- All audition materials will be shared with the candidate.
Membership Requirements
- Members are expected to sing all regularly scheduled concerts (usually four).
- Members are expected to refer to the Chorus Connection calendar for the rehearsal and concert schedule. Dress rehearsals are held during the week of the performance, and are required.
- Regular rehearsals are on Mondays from 7:30 – 10:00pm at Providence Presbyterian Church (Fairfax).
- Members are expected to read (and archive) any emails and newsletters that contain pertinent information.
- Limited absences are granted for business travel and illness. The number of absences allowed per concert is listed in the schedule.
- Members must comply with the FCS Health Policy.
- Members are expected to sell tickets, volunteer, and participate in fundraising.
Rehearsals
- Symphonic Chorus rehearsals are held Monday evenings from 7:30 - 10:00 pm
- Expect to spend time on your music outside of rehearsal

Costs
- The 2026-2027 Membership Fee is $460 and the Music Fee is $60.
- Ladies must purchase the official concert dress; Gentlemen obtain their own tuxedo
Financial Aid
Financial assistance opportunities for those undergoing financial hardship are available on a case-by-case basis. The FCS Board of Directors reviews and considers applications. To be considered, complete and submit a Financial Assistance Application by October 15th . We ask that applications be submitted in a timely manner so FCS can make every effort to allow all singers to participate.

Auditions for the Symphonic Chorus are held annually, and we welcome singers who are eager to challenge themselves musically while becoming part of a warm and dedicated community.
Auditions consist of singing your voice part in a supplied score, vocalizing to determine range, and simple ear training and sight reading tests. Audition length is typically 10 minutes.
