Cookie Policy

Effective September 3, 2026. Last updated September 4, 2026.

This Cookie Policy explains how Fairfax Choral Society (“FCS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on fairfaxchoralsociety.org. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

What These Technologies Do

Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags, and embedded scripts. They help deliver website functions, remember choices, prevent abuse, measure use, and support content or advertising. Some last only for a session; others remain until they expire or are deleted. Duration depends on the provider, browser, and settings.

Cookie Categories

  • Strictly necessary: website operation, security, login, and consent preferences. These technologies may remain active because the website cannot function properly without them.
  • Functional: accessibility tools, videos, maps, forms, and other features requested by a visitor.
  • Analytics: measurement of website traffic and use through Google Analytics. This category requires consent.
  • Marketing: advertising measurement, including the Meta Pixel when enabled. This category requires consent.

Website Operation and Security

Our website platform, hosting, security, forms, and related components may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the website, protect it from misuse, and provide requested features. Administrators who sign in receive additional login and security cookies. Forms may use Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection.

Analytics and Marketing

Google Analytics helps us understand visits and use of the website. Analytics technologies can receive information such as pages visited, referring pages, browser or device details, and cookie identifiers. See Google’s cookie information and Google Analytics cookie use.

Where enabled, the Meta Pixel helps us measure website visits and the effectiveness of FCS advertising. It may use cookies and similar technologies to send Meta information about page visits, IP address, browser details, and cookie or device identifiers. Meta may associate that information with activity on its services. See the Meta Privacy Policy and Meta Cookies Policy.

Google Analytics and any Meta Pixel are nonessential technologies. They remain disabled until a visitor gives the applicable consent. Selecting Reject Nonessential Cookies, or making no selection, prevents the applicable Google Analytics and Meta technologies from loading.

FCS does not use information submitted through youth program forms or payment card details for advertising or marketing tracking. Youth program forms may be provided through Google Forms, which receives the information entered into the form in order to provide that service to FCS.

Embedded Content and Website Features

Videos, maps, accessibility features, fonts, and forms may involve third-party services. An embedded service may place or access cookies when the page containing it loads or when you interact with the embedded content. A link to an external website generally becomes subject to that provider’s cookie practices when you follow the link. Relevant notices include the Google Privacy Policy for Google Forms and Workspace, Google Analytics, YouTube, Maps, and reCAPTCHA; the accessiBe Privacy Notice; and Adobe’s cookie information.

Some youth program registration forms are provided through Google Forms. When a Google Form loads or is submitted, Google may receive the information entered into the form as well as technical information associated with use of the service. Google’s handling of that information is governed by its applicable terms and privacy policy. FCS uses the responses to administer its programs and does not use youth-registration responses for advertising or marketing tracking.

Ticketing, Donations, and External Services

Ticketing and donations may be handled through third-party providers. FCS has selected AudienceView as its ticketing and donation service provider. When you use those services, their cookies and other technologies are subject to the AudienceView Privacy & Cookies Policy and the information shown by the service.

Other payment, calendar, venue, and social-media links may lead to services with their own practices. For transactions made through PayPal links, see the PayPal Statement on Cookies and Tracking Technologies. A provider link does not mean that every technology it offers is enabled on the FCS website.

Your Choices

You can use the link available on our website to accept, reject, or change your choices for nonessential cookies. Cookies necessary for website operation and security may remain active because the website cannot function properly without them.

You can also use browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking cookies may affect website functions, and deleting them may remove saved preferences.

You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on where supported, and review the advertising and privacy controls described in Meta’s policies. These controls have different scopes; a browser or platform setting may not stop every technical request or all processing by a provider.

Contact FCS if you have questions about tracking choices or wish to exercise a right available under applicable law. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it; withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it was withdrawn.

Changes and Contact

We may update this Policy as our technologies, providers, or practices change. Revisions will be identified by an updated date, with any additional notice required by law.
