Kelly Harbison

Ms. Kelly Harbison is a Northern Virginia native and graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College and graduated Summa cum laude from George Mason University with a Master of Arts in Education. As a music educator, Ms. Harbison has taught in Fairfax County Public Schools for 15 years. Starting her career in elementary General Music, she is currently the Choral Director at Katherine Johnson Middle School where she directs over 150 students in 5 choirs. Her choral groups have performed for numerous community organizations and events, and consistently earn Superior ratings at competitions. As President of the Fairfax General Music Educators Association (FGMEA) from 2017-2019, she helped to advocate and provide resources for all General Music teachers in FCPS. Ms. Harbison’s true passion is making and sharing choral music with students. She believes that every child can sing and deserves the opportunity to participate in a choral ensemble.
